Bracken United Methodist Women . . .
. . . just a little piece of a world-wide organization of dedicated,
committed, faithful, loving women with a Purpose and a tremendous love for God and his people.
If folks think we are all little old ladies that bake cookies and rock babies, that's okay.
. . . But, those ‘little old ladies’ are also seen on the streets of Austin fighting for the healthcare
every child deserves.
. . . And, those same ‘little old ladies’ and young mothers are seen working hard at the two
annual Bracken rummage sales to raise funds for mission projects - whether those mission
projects be at Bracken, across town, or across the ocean.
. . . And, those women are active in all areas of ministry at Bracken UMC.
One member of Bracken UMW was right when she said, “UMW is our bag.” Commitment to the
welfare of women and children is a very full bag, and we are oh so proud to carry it.
The Bracken United Methodist Women welcomes women of all ages, whether or not you are a
member of Bracken UMC. UMW meetings are held upstairs in the Connection Center and include
a short business meeting, a time of social awareness, and a time of fellowship. Childcare is
always available.
